The Ordinary Niacinamide 10 percent and Zinc 1 percent Facial Serum

Hey peeps, Happy new year. How is your year going so far?  I wish you a year filled with joy, fulfillment, and peace of mind. It's been a while we added to The Ordinary series. Before I review a product, I try to use it for a long time, usually 1 month, before doing a write-up on it. So, I am here today to tell you about The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%.

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

How to use

After cleansing with a suitable cleansing gel, use a toner to close back the pores.  Then apply on palm and rub all over the face and neck. It dries up immediately leaving a matte feel on the skin.

I love the that you can carry on with other skincare products without it causing displeasure in terms of feeling or looks. You can use with other serums and makeup because it is not heavy.

It is advised that when using Vitamin C-containing products, they should be applied separately as it affects the integrity of Vitamin C.

What skin type to use it on?

It is best to use on oily skin as it reduces the production of sebum. Therefore, its use on dry or normal skin may not be advisable because that can lead to peeling and drying off of the skin.

What to use with

  • It works best on pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads when combined with Salicylic acid 2%. Apart from working on the zits, it also aids in preventing them from popping up.

My final thoughts

Recently I have been under stress and one of the first signs on my skin is breakouts when I feel stressed out. After I started using this awesome item together with Salicylic acid, the pimples dried up and I have not noticed any other breakout. Give the product about three to four days after beginning application before seeing positive changes on your skin.

Stay tuned for more product reviews xx

  1. Great that you can use it with other products and make up. I have dry skin so not sure it would work for me

  2. Interesting for cleaning pores. Glad it doesn't have Salicylic Acid in it. I'm allergic to that.
