Review- The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution- The Ordinary Wednesdays

Just like Nafisah NK, I have oily skin and bound to getting breakouts, hence my inclination towards products that are for acne-prone skin. The Ordinary Salicylic acid is formulated for blemish-prone skin, so if you have a skin that is always on the attack by pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads (especially at that time of the month), then this will be just the item for it. As with most 'The Ordinary' products, this one comes cheap at a price of 4.20GBP.

How does it work?

It acts an exfoliator, whereby it penetrates the pores and clears any clogs. These clogs are made up of dead cells, sebum/oil, and bacteria. Therefore, it is great for the prevention of breakouts.

Another way it works is by reducing inflammation (redness, pain, swelling) that comes with pimples.

What it looks like

The content is clear, watery, gel-like- light in texture. The bottle contains a dropper which makes usage mess-free and less wasteful.

Steps to take for use

After cleansing the face, apply directly to the zits or you can rub it in evenly all over the face. It foams a little on application, then dries up immediately. There is no tingling whatsoever, also I didn't feel like like I rubbed anything on my face after it dried up, so it leaves the face feeling plain.

Patience is required when using it on breakouts as it will take some days before they disappear.

NB

Beta-hydroxy acids leave the skin vulnerable to sun damage, so be sure to apply sunscreen ( SPF 30 or 50).

A little tip

Using this product with The ordinary glycolic acid toner and the AHA+BHA peel will help keep to keep a check on acne-prone skin.
