Hey lovelies, I am here today to review The Ordinary Glycolic acid 7% toning solution. I have had it for over two months now and use almost every day in the evening. Using this product and The Ordinary, in general, has completely revamped my skincare routine.
It should be used in the evening preferably, not more than once in a day. After cleansing, saturate a cotton pad with this formula and sweep across face and neck while avoiding the eye contour area. Continue with your skin care routine after
After toning, The Ordinary salicylic acid 2% solution or 10% Niacinamide + 1% zinc serum will be perfect for use on blemish-prone skin.
For signs of aging, The Ordinary Retinoid in squalane will be a great compliment. The Ordinary Alpha lipoic acid 5% serum is very effectiveas well .
Finally, if you need a more refined skin texture, then use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution (2 or 3 times a week) before applying the toner, then use the retinoid in squalane serum after that.
Just when I started using it, I didn't notice any difference except for the tingling (which is very normal). But after going for dermabrasion at a beauty salon, I was left with scars on my face. Now, this is what happened, after some days of continuous cleansing with The ordinary glycolic acid 7% toning solution, these scars dried up and were peeling off (I could spot them on the cotton pad).
My skin felt amazing afterward. It goes to show that it really does an amazing job (faster results for me since I underwent a beauty treatment). Also, I have not had any problem with my skin since then in terms of breakouts and dryness. My skin feels more supple and clear and I have added confidence to go out without makeup.
I made this review before on my website, check it out if you want to read itfrom another perspective.
That's all for now lovelies. See you next week with more reviews on 'The Ordinary ' Wednesdays.

What it looks like and the price
The bottle is stunted with a pointed cap and the liquid is clear and tan in color. It smells like...well, acid, ha-ha, so it does not have any perfume-like scent (this is one of the reasons I like 'The Ordinary' products). It costs roughly 7 pounds and comes in a 240ml container. You can shop directly from the website or Amazon.
How does it work?
Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that exfoliates the skin by ridding it of the outer dead skin cells leaving fresh and live skin cells. The skin is left feeling smooth and radiant.
What type of skin to use it on
It can be used on most types. To help reduce skin irritation that comes with acid use, it contains a Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative that has this anti-irritation effect. Therefore, there is no need to worry about any side effects. This formulation is not advised to use on irritated, sensitive or compromised skin. A lesser concentration should be used on sensitive skin.
Don't forget your sunscreen
Most exfoliating agents require the use of sunscreen. I cannot over-emphasize on the importance of sun protection especially after using this product or any of the AHAs. A high SPF of 30-50 is recommended.
