Review- The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension 23% + HA spheres 2%

Hey Lovelies, so on today's episode, I will tell you about my experience with The Ordinary's Vitamin C suspension and HA spheres.
BYRDIE

How it works

This skin care formula is another powerful antioxidant, similar in its mode of action to the Alpha Lipoic acid 5%. Anti-oxidants act by reducing tissue damage, thereby giving the skin a brightened and healthy look, plus reduced signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

What it contains

Vitamin C is the major ingredient in this formula, in a pretty high concentration of 23%. The tube contains a white liquid suspension of vitamin C powder, the powder makes it feel gritty to touch. Further, there is a small concentration of hyaluronic acid. To make it even more stable, it does not contain any water.

This formulation does not contain silicone, as such on the application you will feel a burning/tingling sensation. But the advantage of the absence of silicone is that the vitamin C gets to act directly on the skin with no silicone barrier.

How to apply

You can apply it alone after using a toner or together with other treatments. As I mentioned earlier, expect a tingling feeling after use, but this will subside seconds after. Just a tiny amount is more than enough as it is quite oily. Massage into the skin of the face and neck for some time so that the powder absorbs properly.

It is recommended for use at night, but can also be in the morning. Don't forget your sunscreen.

Who can (or not) use it?

  • As it is very strong, I would not suggest it for someone with sensitive skin. If possible, first do a patch test before deciding if to use it.
  • Anyone with fine lines on the skin can use it. It also will help prevent them from surfacing in the first place. So, it is not necessarily for older people.
  • If you have hyper-pigmentation areas, then it will go a long way for you.
  • As it is oily, I wouldn't advise constant exposure on a very oily/ acne-prone skin.

See you guys next week, xx. If you have any further questions which I didn't cover, feel free to ask in the comments and I will be sure to reply ASAP.

Yours in the flawless skin journey, Nafisah NK

  1. That's an interesting formula for skin care. I've not heard of this but it's not something I could use as you said people with sensitive skin should not use it. It's certainly fascinating though.

Sounds like a good skincare product! I am always on the look out for new things to try, so I might check this out a bit more.
